Our Mission at Toka’s Friends
Our mission is to provide the highest quality certified service dogs to veterans impacted by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and support them through extensive and ongoing team training (veteran + dog). Through these best-in-class service dogs and by building long-lasting relationships, we improve the quality of life for the veterans, their families, and the communities in which they live. These services are provided at no cost to the veterans.

Toka's Friends
Our Approach Is Unique
Our complete focus is on the ultimate success of each veteran and dog team. Toka’s Friends deliberately makes unique choices to maximize the success of our service dogs and the veterans they assist.

Our dogs live with a professional dog trainer from eight weeks old until they are matched with a veteran. We do not use volunteer puppy raisers or a dog foster program.

Our regional approach allows us to maximize our face-to-face time with veterans during the comprehensive dog matching and team training process.

We build long term, sustainable relationships with the veterans we serve which facilitates ongoing training, support, regular get-togethers and a veteran + service dog community.
